Welcome to the second edition of The Dalata Difference, our e-publication that celebrates our amazing people.
I hope you enjoyed the festive season, took some time for a well-earned break with family and friends and are looking forward to the year ahead. I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for the contributions you have made to the growth and success of Dalata in 2023.
Hospitality is all about people and, at Dalata, we have great people. Dalata is a different way, a better way and our people are our highest priority.
We are delighted that our commitment to our people has been recognised externally too. Last year, we were immensely proud to have been accredited with the Investors in Diversity Silver Award and become the first organisation to be receive both the KeepWell Mark from IBEC in Ireland and Workplace Wellbeing Charter Accreditation in the UK.
I am also pleased to say that in 2023, over 800 of our people participated in development courses through The Dalata Academy and the continued high levels of customer satisfaction is something we should all be proud of.
Our values are really important to me and in this second edition of The Dalata Difference I can’t wait to read more about how our people live those values on a daily basis.
We recognise it can be tricky in a company of over 5,500 employees and an expanding portfolio of hotels – which will grow again this year, with the addition of four new Maldron Hotels in the UK – to stay connected but we hope The Dalata Difference can capture many of the great things that happen at Dalata on a daily basis.
We will also use this publication as a means of updating you on a wide range of initiatives, such as our ESG strategy, The Dalata Academy and our growth plans.
I hope you enjoy this edition of The Dalata Difference and I want to pay tribute to everyone who has contributed.
It was great to read about Thomas O’Donnell and how his career with Dalata is progressing. Thomas’ story demonstrates the opportunities that exist at our company and his closeness to his colleagues in Dublin highlights the special connections we all make at Dalata.
I also enjoyed reading all about the amazing people at one of our newest hotels — Maldron Hotel Finsbury Park. Kirsty’s praise for every member of her team fills me with immense pride.
And in Carlean Sam-Orhin it’s clear they have a baking extraordinaire in their midst. The cupcakes on the hotels opening night, looked delicious!
Please put your feet up, relax and enjoy this edition of The Dalata Difference.
